Safeguarding Policy

Safeguarding Statement

We pray that all who stay on Crosthwaite Campsite for the Keswick Convention are blessed, as they meet and grow closer to the Lord Jesus Christ

A reminder that the supervision of all children is the responsibility of their parent / guardian / designated adult (eg group leader). Similarly, for adults with care and support needs, those who are supporting them have that responsibility. Campers should be aware that some parts of the campsite, particularly the access lanes and those where the showers and toilets are located, are in areas where the general public have access. Parents / carers are advised to be especially vigilant in these areas.

As a campsite, we do not offer specific programmes for children and adults. Those all take place at the Convention sites. We do provide opportunities for campers to meet, eg the weekly picnic, the morning prayer meetings, but we cannot take responsibility for children or adults with care and support needs at any of those.

We operate in conjunction with Keswick Ministries Safeguarding Policy and Practice, and you will see signage to this effect on our campsite.

If at any time during your stay at Crosthwaite Campsite, you have concerns, know of someone who is at risk, or presents a risk to others, please seek advice, or report the matter to: Keswick Ministries Safeguarding Officers Simon Overend or Lucy Goldie – they can be contacted on 017687 80075 or at safeguarding@keswickministries

A copy of the Keswick Ministries Safeguarding Policy can be obtained from the Keswick Ministries office.
