Easter 2025 – Give thanks for Answered prays. News updates

Dear Campers ,

Firstly let’s celebrate that this Sunday is Easter Sunday.

I know that it is obvious to some, but it is the day that we remember that Jesus was resurrected from his horrific death on the cross to save us from our sins. Thank you Lord.

We have much to be thankful for on the campsite. In summary

  • A great team day doing jobs on the site to enable setup and the toilet waste storage going forward. Big thank you to the Pettits, Paul Wells, Nathan and his brush cutter, the Arnold’s (great cake by Ruth), and of course Mick.
  • For weeks 1 &3 being fully booked, week 2 has some space, moving forward onto field 5 (the football pitches).
  • For the storage and the gas cage at the Pencil Factory. Thanks to the KM team for all their help
  • For new, younger team members coming forward
  • For Setup catering being undertaken. Are you a student who is free in week 0, setup week. You will get all you can eat food! Contact the secretary@crosthwaitecamp.org.uk
  • For all the pitching having been done in draft by Roz, who alongside Sarah (Bookings) have made huge progress on bookings and dealing with camper’s queries. They have both done an amazing job as a team.

We are in the final three months run up to camp and it will get busier. Many things will be happening in the run up to setup. Some of the headline news is as follows:

  • Great support from KM on many practical matters.
  • Water recycling will take place to use shower water as toilet flushing water. This is to reduce waste removal.
  • Two extra washing up stations in the car park and on field 3 due to the increased numbers
  • Change to car parking. Due to the numbers in weeks 2 & 3 KM have helped us find car parking spaces at multiple locations to aid car parking across the town. This will be for the exclusive use of our campers to park, more to follow on this. We are looking for logistics planners for weeks 2 & 3 to help with this. Can you help?
  • For major groups to help with duties. Thank you “Groups”
  • All the help from the school on many fronts to ensure that the we have access to the football pitches (including water supply and an additional power supply to the field.

In other news, and going forward, in the next months.

  • From the end of May, Pre booking of camper’s Visitors will be open. More to follow on this with instructions. (Visitors will be issued with white wristbands)
  • Final invoices will be issued AFTER the 5th May
  • Check-in will be issued, by week, in the last week in June.
  • Early bird (EB) children and youth booking to be made available by KM to our camp and Springs Camp. I don’t know when, so please don’t ask, but we shall email you when we know. When this comes out, act promptly. Last year KM only made this on available for 3 days. The organisation of EB is outside of the camps control. Please be KIND with the camp team on this.

Bless you all, may you have a great Easter Sunday

Praise the Lord

Tim
